Study using the M.A.P.S. method:
Meditate & Memorize: Spend time intentionally thinking about and trying to remember what you read instead of powering through.
Apply: How does the part of God's Word you read apply to you? How does it move your Head, Heart, and Hands in a way that makes you more Christlike?
Pray: Ask God to help you be molded to His Word whether that means repenting of sin that passage convicted you of or your response is to praise God for the love expressed in the passage or you just need to surrender because you're rebelling against what He said. Pray to God to help you live what He has written.
Share: Be intentional to talk to someone about what you have read.
Journaling the former is also a great tip. ;-)
